Softstep’s mission is simple: keep the peace at all costs. When resistance surfaces, this Resistobot leans toward smoothing things over, avoiding conflict, and reshaping change so nobody feels left out or upset. The problem is that constant accommodation can dilute the vision, slow down momentum, and leave important challenges unaddressed. Underneath the gentle exterior lies a fear of letting others down or creating tension.

When Softstep taps into their Hero Shadow, their empathy becomes a powerful connector. They create the relationships and trust that allow others to feel safe stepping into the unknown — making buy-in possible and progress sustainable.

How to shift

To pull back into the core strength of Softstep, it is important to come to terms with not being liked be everyone. You can't please everyone...you're not a taco.

​

Instead, understanding that more important than being liked by all is to really support solving the problem at hand. What will it really take to get to the best outcome for the whole instead of for each individual? If you can do that, how much will everyone liking you matter?

​

There is a difference between being like and being respected. When you operate from the perspective of Softstep, it is nearly impossible to gain respect. So what which would you rather have? Which will better help you and help others?
